It’s R.T. Hill celebration week, and we want anyone and everyone to come!
This Thursday from 4:00-6:30 P.M. we will have a celebration of what God has done at Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) this year. We will have games, food, and time for fellowship and interaction and a special speaker and gospel presentation. This is and has been an amazing opportunity to shine the light of Christ in our neighborhood as a public middle school has opened their doors to us, letting us proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ.
Obviously, these events do not just happen but require much prayer and many hands and feet. This Thursday we will need help preparing and serving hundreds of hot dogs and other goodies. We are going to show up at 2:00 PM to start with the setup. We need help manning game and prize stations (think carnival-like games) and we need volunteers to interact and love on these kids and their families. We have had dozens of kids profess Jesus as Savior and we desire to walk with them as they start off on this path of discipleship. We hope to provide opportunities to pair up our students with Godly volunteers who will commit to praying for and sending messages of encouragement to these young believers as they begin a lifetime of following Christ.
I know we are all busy, and I know this is on a weeknight, but I really do not want you to miss this. Not only the opportunity to serve but to witness all the amazing things God is doing at RT Hill. I can say without a doubt that I have never seen so many amazing things happen at one school in the course of a year. Your prayers and service as a church are such a huge part of that. I have also rarely seen so much heartbreak — even today the school was put in lock-down because of an incident in the neighborhood. There is a spiritual battle going on at RT Hill, Redeemer and we have an opportunity to join with our brothers and sisters at the school to bring the good news into this spiritual fight. Please join us as we celebrate how Christ’s victory is being demonstrated at Hill and as we continue to share the good news of Jesus Christ with our neighbors!
In Christ,
Brooks Nesse (and the rest of Redeemer Bible Church Pastoral Staff)
